An informal winter wedding

February 29th, 2012  |  Published in Wedding photography

I was really excited, the first time Holly and Bradley told me about their wedding plans.  They were so keen that the whole event would be relaxed and informal.  As a couple they have a great sense of fun, which was typically demonstrated in their wedding invitations – a photohraph from the Royal wedding with Holly and Bradley as Will and Kate!

Holly was determined not to wear a ‘typical wedding dress’.  The ceremony was held in Chelsea Registry Office witnessed by 15 members of their close family.  Then, with a short pause for confetti (enthusiastically thrown by the younger members of the family) and a couple of family pictures it was time to flag down some taxis then off to Primrose Hill where one of their favourite restaurants was packed to bursting with family and friends.  It was exactly as they’d planned an informal family celebration.  The restaurant was a short walk from Primrose Hill itself so we took a break to take some photographs of Holly and Bradley with the London skyline behind them and on the way back I couldn’t resist the red telephone boxes as a background.  Somehow that red always makes me think of London and they’ve resulted in a set of wedding pictures that are just a little bit different.

Sophie and Peter’s engagement – Milton Keynes

February 7th, 2012  |  Published in Engagement photography, Portrait photography

One of the things that i love about being a photographer in Milton Keynes is the huge variety of locations and backdrops we have all around us, from grand country estates to woodlands and parks and more urban backgrounds.  It was the more urban feel that Sophie and Peter asked me to find as a backdrop to their engagement pictures, although we started a little more ‘country’ so we could include their dog (who took to modelling like a pro).  You’ll also see from these pictures that the English weather also played it’s part to add to the atmosphere.

I’ll be photographing Sophie and Peter’s wedding later this year, when the camper van will also be making another appearance.
